dear reader,
I hear that you want to lose/gain weight for your new years resolution?!?! Thats amazing but before we get into the nitty gritty lets get a few things straight….
New year's resolution, are a great way to set goals for the new year…….. Unfortunately for most of us, we get all gung-ho for the change until it starts to become uncomfortable; that is when our desires and drive starts to go ari…..compiled with the new need for instant gratification, along with the lack of noticeable quick changes, no wonder most of us never achieve what we set out to accomplish.
But Jeffry, how do we overcome the new year debacle? It's simple, we stated one of the fixes in the beginning, change is always going to be uncomfortable. Hell, all forms of change; mental, physical, and emotional, are going to be off putting in their own right. It's how you navigate the discomfort that makes or breaks progress. You can complain about the process with hopes it won't fall on deaf ears ( sympathy in the form of validation, or clarification of your change), or you can move quietly in the shadows limiting the amount of rift raf and insecure thoughts, allowing you to focus on the task at hand: “why cant you have both, why cant i walk in silence and talk about the issues at hand?”, well said dear reader, no one said in the last mode you have to take a vow of silence, you're allowed to talk about your struggles; however you can't harp on the negative aspects. What do mi mean like this, you have to look at the situation logically. This is what happened; this is the result of the occurrence, with this information i will take these actions, this way its less of an excuse and more of a definitive course of action.
Compared to the ladder the self wallow route strips your ability to, not only find joy in the day-to-day, but it also puts you at a disposition to take in negative condemnations: ie other people's insecurities and anxious tendencies. With these implanted into our heads we tend to falter easier. Along with this we tend to easily disregard our own progress, and tend to quit on our selves dreams and goals.
So let's try to take the appropriate steps and dominate this year. Let's set ourselves for better longevity, instead of instant gratification. I know I never conned up this quote but it definitely deserves to be stated especially in this situation: Rome wasn't built in a day, but it burned down in one! This quote was talking about how the empire took many years to build but however it burnt to the ground, one fateful day, july 19th- 64ad.
Its shows us that regardless of all our hard work we can still loose it all in a split second, maybe life hits us with a situation that takes us away from our goals. What happened then, for myself personally this happened countless times, and because of it I wasn't able to find the strength to restart or continue. It was debilitating, but as I grew older I found the drive to continue. By golly I'm so glad I did, because l wouldn't be the man I am today!
So dear reader let's dominate this year together, by taking it slow and focusing on bettering our health before we worry about the weight. Weight loss comes from better habits not by fads or starving ourselves. Each little step we take leads us to the best version of ourselves. So let's take that first step together!
Sincerely your favorite coach, Jeffry Hannah
